Northumberland / Durham

Northumberland is a magical place filled with ancient castles; hidden gardens; unspoilt beaches; rolling hills; rugged moorland; sweeping views; friendly little market towns and a cultural heritage all of its own. I think it comes second to Yorkshire in my most favourite places in the UK. So many photo opportunities are available, from landscapes to seascapes, to birds and wildlife. After you’ve visited Yorkshire then why not try Northumberland? Once you’ve finished looking here then why not head over to Visit Northumberland ?

County Durham is in North East England. The county town is Durham, a cathedral city. The largest settlement is Darlington, closely followed by Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees. It borders Tyne and Wear to the north east, Northumberland to the north, Cumbria to the west and North Yorkshire to the south. The coast line is ‘littered’ with small towns and villages and beautiful beaches. It’s definitely a place worth visiting, head over to the This is Durham website for all the best information.
